Not Deep Thoughts, but way cool Bagel Bars!

OK....I'm soooo excited!!! I used to buy these low carb/high protein/high fiber bagel bars from Sams Club. I lived on the things. Then, they quit carrying them...... b.....ullies that they are! Anywho, I found them online!!!! I had looked for them online before, but didn't find them. But, low and behold (I have no idea what that phrase means, but it is used for emphasis) I found them today! I asked Mark if I could order them (you have to buy them by the case...72 bars, but they freeze) and he said "go for it". Ya see, he's on a low carb diet...and being quite successful, I might add. I pretty much just throw meat and cheese at him...and an occasional vegetable, some dairy here and there. Oh, he also, sometimes eats a square of dark chocolate....but I do digress! I ordered them tonight. They should be here in 7 - 10 business days. I'm so excited!

Deep Thoughts

Hi All!
I don't do this often....actually, I don't post often, but there is an article in my prayer journal that I think is so cool that I want to share it with anyone who actually reads my posts. So, here goes:

When we face a crisis, how will we pray? In Acts 4:24-30, this group of believers asked themselves, "What do we need in order to best colabor with God in His sovereign work on earth?" The answer to that question became a prayer request (see vv. 29-30).
God may not lead us to ask the same specific requests these early disciples asked. However, we do need to learn from them how to see our situation from God's perspective. Asking is the easy part of praying. Knowing what to ask takes time and reasoning with God through the Scriptures.
A good starting place would be to ask God the question, "Amid this crises, what do I need in order to best colabor with You, Lord, in Your sovereign work on earth?" Seek to join God in His purposes. Look to Him as opposed to looking for the easy way out.
- Lee Brase (Pray!, Issue 1 p. 30)

I think that is so cool! Have a great day!

See You At The Pole!!!

I'm just gonna post real quick. I had my first "See You At The Pole" experience this morning. I know, I know... I raised 3 kids...why was I never there when they were in school... I don't know. I can't remember if they had it then. They prolly did. I was prolly tired! Anywho, I woke up at 6 am and couldn't decide whether to go or not. I had encouraged all my kids at kids church to go. Actually, I knew I should go, but I was WAY tired. But obedience won and I'm glad it did. I got to Mt. Zion Intermediate about 8:07 and there were something like 60 kids there. I was gonna go to the elementary school, but felt like I was supposed to go to Intermediate. It was WAY COOL! Kids praying for each other and their teachers. Not like, "God, get 'em", but like, "God, be with our teachers today". One little girl prayed "God, I know we're friends, but help us remember that we're family too!". Then there was this one little boy (I know this little guy), he prayed something like, "God, I know I'm a bully. And I know that all these kids know that too. But help me stop being a bully. I wanna be more like you." Oh my goodness!!!! It makes me cry just typing it. God, be with him today. Help him remember You! Kids prayed that they would listen and learn and stay in school. They prayed for protection. They prayed that they would be obedient!!!!! After all the kids ran into school, one little guy ran out real quick and said, "Thanks, Miss Kathy....for coming." Let's be salt and light, people. If these kids can, we'd better!

who'll give a dollar/dollar and a half/two I've got two!!!

Jo sounded slightly interested in my auction experience, so I thought I'd blog about that. But before I launch into that, I must post that Baxter (my odd male mini/dachsy) is very uh, um, MALE these past few days. Ya see, Brenna went into heat, so we waited the first week and then Brenna moved in and Baxter hasn't been the same. If it weren't so annoying and pathetic, I might feel slightly sorry for him. But mostly, I laugh!!!! or want to cut his voicebox out for howling, and howling and howling at Brenna. Brenna tolerated him to "accomplish what needed to get accomplished" and it did get accomplished!!. She is sooooo very done with him now, but he still keeps thinking he has a chance. If he barks or howls or jumps just right at Brenna she might reconsider. I don't think so! So we have a satisfied Brenna and a totally Depressed Baxter. Enough of that.....although I can tell you when one is breeding dogs, there is a "step" that is referred to as "being tied". That is a very descriptive term. Brenna was fairly non plussed by the whole thing, but Baxter was HORRIFIED!!!! Visual picture: Baxter screaming being drug around by "his woman". While hoping he wasn't getting injured (dogs have been being "amorous" forever) I stood and laughed. I'm mean.

What I bought at the auction: wooden fruit (had to fight my sis and brother over this one)
a relatively average to ugly porcelain angel doll - might give it to the Olinger twins, they seem to really like porcelain dolls
sterling silver reindeer candle ring that matches another christmas decoration I already have! I wanted this one
fiber optic 4ft. christmas tree - gonna give that to angie to replace her 12 in. florescent tube christmas tree
tiny george foreman grill (2 burger job) prolly gonna toss that
yard flals - I like this. has many flags, seasonal, holiday, stuff like that
various food items: 3 ham loaves (what is a ham loaf), home made noodles ( I'm sure my mommy made these)
and last but not least, this really cool cast iron ice crusher. This is gonna come in so handy during those little anemic episodes of mine.

so that's it. I'll post again soon. I'm just really tired right now. I've iced my back, took my horny dog out to potty, strapped my head down for my neck exercise (not any kind of kinky thing, merely neck exercises I'm doing to pacify my chiropractor. Night all!

The Bestest, most funnest weekend in a LONG WHILE!!!

I know I haven't posted since Nov. 12th....but who's counting. And prolly no one will read this, since I don't post, but here goes. I just got done with a weekend from God. Now, as you read this, if you read this, you might have a differing opinion about my judgement. Just keep in mind that words like best and fun and incredible are all relative terms. And I am the one using those words. So for me, this weekend was all of those. One of the best, most fun and incredilbe!!! On friday I got to spend ALL DAY with my daughter!!! Now, I know we do this sometimes getting ready for events and the like, but this was different. She needed to get her car fixed and the only places to fix it were out of town. So we took it to Champaign and waited while they fixed it. We had the option of staying at the car joint or taking a shuttle provided by said car joint over to the mall. Decisions, decisions. We decided, based on our past experiences, our current situation and our future hopes and dreams (for all of you Andy Stanley enthusiasts.....'best question ever) that we would take the shuttle. There was enough time to buy me a new pair of jeans, Angie some new pants and shirt, William and Josiah matching outfits, complete with matching hats at Children's Place. I Also got Jackson 2 new outfits and Elena an outfit on the clearance rack and crock like shoes in lime green and hot pink. All of these lovely finds were from Children's Place. Then at Baby Gap I found tumphy pants for Elena in lellow, just like she wanted With a matching shirt, and orange striped tumphy pants with shirt. We had time to browse the Christian store outlet where Angie bought a book she had been looking for. Then on to my fav....the kitchen store. Ang bought me 2, not one but 2 really good veggy graters for my birthday. (collective sigh!!!) They are not box graters, but plane graters. I'd been looking all over for good quality graters and we found them, and since we skipped my HB this year, this was oh so much fun!! We also stopped at Bath and Body and bought hand lotion and hand soap. Oh, I almost forgot, I finally found a pretty dress for Kayle. I already had one for Mahala, but hadn't found one for Kayle!!! Then the shuttle came and got us. She paid (did she ever!!!) and since it was quitting time in Decatur. Before we left town, we managed to go to World Market (they are CLOSING) how sad, Target, and Barnes and Noble. Before we left, supper was at Chevies (lunch was food court) What a lovely day!!!
Sat. I cleaned a bit and then about 3, Mark and I picked up his mom in Shelbyville. then we all went to a ho down at Little Flock Baptist Church. There were approx. 14 people on the stage and approx. 25 in the pews. There were 5 acoustic guitars, a steel guitar, mandolin, banjo, base fiddle, fiddle and a drummer and then 3 "just singin' people. They call themselves, "The Gunnysack Review". There music was kinda bluegrass, country, gospel stuff. this might sound odd to you, but these folks play every Wed. night in arthur, IL and I'm goin' one of these Wednesdays. If your interested, give me a call!! It was a 2 1/2 hours long, kinda brother where art thou ho down. DID I SAY FUN!!!!!
Then, today after church I had lunch at Carlos with my kids (minus dan's fam) my hubby and some great friends. Tonight, Angie, Wilma Jean and I went to soup dinner/ auction in Shelbyville at my home church. Again, fun, fun, fun. My sister, brother and I kept bidding against each other. People had fun watching us, I think. Anyway, last year they hardly broke $200 after a very long auction, but this year they broke $1110!!!! God is good. Anywho, maybe I'll post more later.....or tell you about my new, fun vitamins, or my new fun insomnia medicine...I know, it's late...but I love my new meds, or my new experiences with my chiropractor. Life is more fun than a barrel of monkeys.

So until next time, remember, God will help you be true to your word. Let your yes be yes, and your no, no. (complements of our kids church lesson today) Smile alot today and look around. Who could you make look amazing just by adding to their life. What could you do today for your spouse, child, friend or neighbor that would make them smile? Do it, you'll smile too! I love you all.
